elearning

Many factors dictate the primary method of training delivery however, the complexity of the application and the expected size of the audience often drive the decision to produce elearning material.

Working closely with our customers, our development team will produce elearning modules that are both informative and interactive; all materials are produced where possible to WAI AA Standard for Accessibility and guidelines for SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) compliance are also followed ensuring compatibility with industry standard Learning Management Systems (LMS).

As interfaces with much larger audiences come online, the value of producing elearning and the vital role that it will play in the delivery of training materials becomes apparent.

interaction types

When producing our elearning material, it is vital that we engage the user in every aspect of the learning experience. To that end, we employ a range of interactions each of which can be used in the learning-cycle for the user. Our interactions include:
  • rollover
Rollovers are interactions that give users more information, such as explaining the fields within a dialogue box. The graphic with certain areas highlighted indicating where you are required to hover your mouse. When you hover over these areas the associated information is displayed
  • walkthrough
A walkthrough interaction is where users have the opportunity to step through a number of simulated processes and is designed to show the mechanics of the process. Each walkthrough has a number of steps supported by a graphic.
  • scenario
Each scenario we produce simulates the application on which the user is being trained. The user is set a certain task that they have to complete and they use the scenario to navigate the various steps required to complete the task. If the user clicks in the wrong area of the screen, they are informed of that they have taken an incorrect step and are asked to try again.

There are two types of scenario:
    • examples where explanatory text is provided
    • examples which allow you to explore functionality without stepped instructions, but with a prompts available if required.
  • free play
Free plays are essentially a replication of a part of an application where users are given free reign to navigate around and investigate at their own pace.

bespoke learning management system

In addition to the provision of elearning, Quintessential Training can also provide you with a simple learning management system that allows you to:
  • monitor the uptake of the elearning within your organisation
  • identify who has and has not completed the training
  • assess the time taken to complete an elearning module
This elearning management system is fully tailorable to your own organisations needs and can therefore provide additional functionality at your request.
